A Little Stitching Post

Hello,

I have been stitching all through the summer and fall.  Mainly small things.  I'll be showing them as I finish "doing them up" as a good friend of mine would say.  Here is a little biscornu that I just put the finishing stitches on.  It's a little freebie from Barbara Anna simply called Halloween Biscornu.  If you like you can find it here.

Stitched on mystery linen with charted threads.

Halloween projects are one of my favourites to stitch.

Have a wonderful day,  Newfie Princess.

Happy March - Happy St. Patrick's Day!

A couple of stitching projects I have been working on this March and many firsts.  Stitched my first Shepherd's Bush chart called March.  It came with a wee little button in the shape of a pot of gold.  I really want to start finishing my stitching finishes so I went ahead and made my first pin keep out of this cute little stitched piece.  I wasn't able to figure out how to make the bow set properly - so no bow.

My first La D Da chart - Something Wicked.  So much fun to stitch.  I can't wait to finish to make into a pillow for display at Halloween.

My great girlfriend and I went for a lovely lunch and took in afternoon movie "The Call".  Wow, a great thriller.  During most of the movie my heart was pounding louder than the music.  I had to close my eyes for some of it (yes, I am faint of heart lol)  Just don't want certain images floating around in my brain.  We both thought it was a great flick.

Have a wonderful day...

A Little Valentine Hello,

This year for Valentine's Day I decided to stitch my guy a little present.  He is an organizer and loves Coleman Lanterns.  So, I ordered this little chart from Campfire Chic a little while ago and decided to make it into a little zippered bag.  It's lined with the background fabric.  I used directions from Design Sponge   Wow, clear instructions and the easiest bit of sewing I have ever done.  Start to finish 1/2 hour.  I will never buy another zippered case again.  It will hold his coins for showers at camp grounds when we travel this summer.  It was a big hit :)

The second is a design I have long admired on the web by Janice Wood.  It's a freebie and can be found here.  It was so enjoyable to stitch and I was pleasantly surprised with how big it turned out to be.

Wow, two stitches and two finishes.  A record for me ha, ha.  Have a wonderful week,

Hello 2013!

Just finished this little freebie by Brookes Books called New Year's Magic.  It is so pretty.  I haven't been stitching for too long a time and it was great to work with the needle again.  I have also started stitching one of her Bride's Tree Heirloom Ornaments - Home.  I love the freebie couple she gave to make a box topper to hold all 12 of the ornaments.

Very cold here today -42C so I will stay inside and do a little stitching.  Have a wonderful day.
